Eclipse of the Sun - A Natural Wonder

The longest total solar eclipse of the 21st Century takes place on July 22nd, when parts of China will seep into 6 minutes of darkness.

One of the best places to watch will be on the banks of the Qiantang river where visitors can watch the incredible tidal bore - a wave several metres high - where the river penetrates the relatively narrow river mouth. This "bore" is caused by the gravitational pull of the moon and the sun.

Unfortunately, the odds are that, due to the location and time of year of the eclipse this time, the skies are likely to be cloudy......but cloudy or not, the "bore" would be something special to see!
