Catching my first wave
After being a surf widow for so long, i should have known that i would only ever be second best to a surfboard, now that we have children, i think i am now further down the list!
So i am relunctant to admit and jump for joy at the thrill and excitement of catching my first wave, be it lying on my stomach holding the board so tight that i would not fall off, i did not take into account of it flipping up vertically and me heading head first with a mouth full of water, which i forgot to close, as i was in so much shock. Not the shock of going into the water but from sheer excitement and laughter when i realised that it was not my husband pushing the board behind me but i had caught my first wave! be it short, it still had the push.
This was certainly an unforgettable moment and one that has taken over 10 years to admit!
